New Beginnings: How did you first meet?

Jay likes to say we met at a bar, which is technically true.  We met at a new employee happy hour for the Houston-based company we both started at out of college.

We were both attracted to each other's smiles. 

New Beginnings: What do you love about the other today?

Today we both love the other for being the Father and Mother of our three girls. Our priorities are both set to #1 God; #2 Marriage and #3 Family.  We can talk about anything. 

New Beginnings: What strength does your spouse bring to the marriage?

(Jay) brings his sense of loyalty, balance, and ability to remain calm to our marriage.

(Denise) brings an outgoing personality and adventurous spirit to try and learn new things.

New Beginnings: Was there ever a time in your marriage when you considered giving up? 

No, there was never a time when either of us considered giving up.  When we encountered extremely difficult issues we prayed, cried, and found peace and perseverance from the Holy Spirit.

New Beginnings: How would you describe your marriage today?

Today, we'd describe our marriage as a work in progress, stronger and better than ever.

New Beginnings: What role does God play in your marriage?

God is the center, glue and foundation of our marriage.

New Beginnings: What Scripture verse best describes your marriage?

Jeremiah 29:11 describes our marriage, our family, and our faith, "For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for good and not for evil..."

New Beginnings: What tips do you have for other couples striving for a lasting and loving marriage?

Our tip for other couples would be to put God first: study His Word and everything else will fall into place.
